Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. Buss is the founder and director of Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is a California native Buss grew up in an upper class family. Jerry Buss' father was an entrepreneur in real estate who was later a part owner of the Lakers as well as several other companies in the field of sports. When her parents split in 1972 and she started to feel emotionally abandoned. At the age 19 she was appointed the general manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis team. Later, she founded the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. In the beginning, she was vice president of Lakers prior to taking over the position of president of Great Western Forum. Buss, her five sisters and brothers, as well as their father, who owned the Lakers and was their controlling shareholder until his death in 2013, took over this ownership through the trust. They each had equal vote rights. She assumed the office of the president for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also co-owner of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion that is based at Los Angeles.
