April Ross
April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball athletes to win medals at many Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal alongside Alix Klineman who is a first time Olympian. Ross hopes to win more than just her first Olympic medal. At 39, it may be her last shot. Still confident, however. Ross said on NBC Boston: "If we do our best and even if we just play well I'm sure we'll be able to win gold." In addition, I'm planning to rely on a bit of good luck. Ross was born on the 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area along with her entire family. In Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many different sports. She was a basketball player and also ran track, in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements as a prep athlete. Although she was a pro in indoor volleyball however, it was evident that her skills were above normal. Based on her biography, she was a middle blocker and an outside hitter on the volleyball court throughout her time in high school. In recognition of her accomplishments she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. In addition, she was awarded the award in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross Klineman and Ross may have begun working together in 2017, but Ross was already an established volleyball player before they teamed up. In reality, she's had numerous big wins as well as one of her partners was a renowned volleyball player. Between 2007 and 2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Kessy was Ross's partner on the World Championships in 2009. The 2012 Olympic Games, they won a gold medal. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. Together, they won beach volleyball bronze for the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross started her college career with the USC Trojans following graduation from high school. This was years before Ross made her debut on the sand and turned pro. And her run at USC was an impressive one. When she was a freshman in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. Her Trojans made it to the Final Four. In her sophomore season, she experienced a terrible personal loss and still earned the distinction of being an All-American. In her last two seasons with the Trojans' program the team was led to success by winning two successive national titles. Ross was an excellent volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the best female college volleyball player. Ross studied international relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the privilege of watching her daughter grow into the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross lost her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. However, she continues to remember her deceased parent close and close. Margie is a beach lover as well as in everyday life, inspires her.
