Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born on Winona Minnesota. The name was given to her by her parents for the town where she was raised in. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's parents also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. The actress is the younger sister of Uria who is half-sister to Jubal & Sunyata. In the year Ryder was only seven her family moved into Mendocino County California. The town didn't even have electricity. Ryder was a prolific reader due to the lack of television.
